Dear 9 to 5 routine

Pani puri, chaat, aloo tikki, French fries are all so dreamy until the age of 20. Eat it in the breakfast, school canteen or while on a drive and you would still fit into the jeans you bought a year ago. But now you can’t eat anything without knowing the calorie, fat , protein blah blah. THAT’S ADULTING.

A wise man once said, “I would have to leave my job to calculate if my protien intake is enough”.

Anybody who works in a tier one city knows how hard it is to manage everyday life. Travelling takes up a big chunk of the day leaving no room for a person to take care of himself. A busy life and being at your fittest sounds great until you check the prices of personal training at the gym or maybe an avocado. Also, to make your life, more difficult, a few self-proclaimed influencers, go on the Internet, telling you why salads or unhealthy or eggs are the next poison ( I MYSELF HAVE SEEN THESE, LITERALLY).

You don’t have to punch a hole in your wallet to stay fit, eat healthy and look good. The art of being healthy stems from the very basic steps of working your body in a systematic manner, providing yourself with nutrients as much as possible and following a calm and composed routine religiously.

AI is your shield

To become a Gen Z warrior, you will have to act like one, and what better than using AI tools at your disposal. Jot down your 5 of your fitness and nutrition goals that you wish to achieve in these coming six months. Now, go ahead and prioritise three of these that are most important to you.

Type these down in any AI chat tool and ask it to create a health plan adjusted to your busy routine. Since you now have a rough layout, make changes to it according to your determination and keep striving forward.

Grocery shopping feels like a task?

Eating healthy does not mean that you need to stick to the bland food and the awful tasting green juices. No wonder they are nutritious but it is not a rule to not enjoy your life. Stick to the simplest thing as a beginner and then make your way forward with it. Buy non- perishable food in bulk, that way it’s cheaper. Plan your meals in advance whenever you are free, as this will save time and let you prepare meals hassle free. There are various nutrient rich ayurvedic diets that our ancestors have been following since ages. But before blindly following them, do a 3 day test to check if they suit your gut health or not. If an over complicated meal tenses you out, stick to basic indian meal preps but try and include as much grains, tofu or paneer to get more energy for that hectic day.

Are gyms overrated?

Unless you are trying to look like Ronnie Coleman from his prime-time, it’s okay to feel that gyms are overrated. To be honest, I have met dozens of people who are fit just by following a bare minimum routine without equipment. Yoga, jogging, running and Home workouts are one of the best ways to kickstart your fitness journey. Requiring an hour of your time, they bring about calmness to your mental health and a drastic improvement to your physical fitness too.

Here are some of my personal favourite channels for you to look up for.
